Bayan-Ulgii /MONTSAME/
Bayan-Ulgii aimag’s Governor’s Office and Environment and Tourism Department
jointly with Mongolian Eagle Hunter’s Association organized the Eagle Festival
at Sayat Tolgoi in Bugat soum, Bayan-Ulgii aimag on October 5-6.
141 eagle
trainers from 13 soums of the aimag competed with their birds’ skills at the
annual event.
“This year marks
the 20th anniversary of the festival. The event is expanding its scope year by
year. This year, the festival brought together around 2,000 tourists from 23
countries," said aimag Governor A.Gilimkhan.
Deputy Minister
of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry J.Saule, Deputy Minister of Environment
and Tourism Ts.Batbayar, Advisor to Environment and Tourism Minister P.Ganbold
and representatives from the country’s five western aimags attended the
festival. Painting and photo exhibitions and an academic conference were held
on the days prior to the festival that internationally promotes Mongolia, while
increasing the income of the local citizens.
